Staff Accountant - East Coast

Job Description

The Lukens Company (TLC) is seeking a versatile individual for a position at our corporate headquarters in Arlington, VA. The Staff Accountant will assist with every day financial activities and subsequently provide guidance to the Director of Finance on future financial plans.

TLC is an award-winning, full-service direct response agency that has been providing marketing and fundraising services to political and nonprofit clients for over 30 years.


  • Assist in day-to-day accounting functions, including but not limited to, processing payroll, cash receipts and disbursements, general journal entries and other accounting functions assigned by Director of Finance.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial information and reports to facilitate the decision-making process and ensure success of the corporation.
  • Provide monthly information and analysis for Strategic Management Team.
  • Provide analysis of cash flow, operating costs and variances.


  • Peachtree (Sage)
  • Advantage
  • ADP
  • 2-3 years related experience in financial statement preparation, accounting systems, budgeting and treasury functions
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • In depth knowledge of financial and integrated accounting systems
  • Proficient in MS Office, with advanced excel skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Perform analysis on various company projects and plans and provide alternatives and recommendations
  • CPA a plus
