Junior Staff Accountant

Job Description

The Lukens Company (TLC) is seeking a team-first, detailed-oriented person for a Junior Staff Accountant position located in our corporate headquarters in Arlington, VA. This is an associate-level position and the ideal candidate will have a few years of experience in Accounting and ideally some exposure to basic HR and other Administrative tasks.

TLC is an award-winning, full-service direct response agency that has been providing marketing and fundraising services to political and nonprofit clients for over 30 years.


  • Execute day-to-day accounting functions at the direction of supervisor. Functions include, but not limited to, processing payroll, cash receipts and disbursements, general journal entries, financial and managerial accounting report generation, and other accounting functions assigned by supervisor
  • Assist with other company administrative and office management tasks


  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting
  • Knowledge of the following accounting and admin applications (or similar applications), including Peachtree (Sage), Advantage, ADP
  • Ability and desire to learn and understand systems
  • Process-oriented
  • Hands-on problem-solver
  • 2-3 years related experience in financial statement preparation, accounting systems, budgeting and treasury functions
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Proficient in MS Office, with advanced excel skills
