Director of Client Services – West Coast

Job Description

The Lukens Company (TLC) is seeking a skilled individual for a Director of Client Services at our location in Los Angeles, CA. The Director of Client Services oversees account teams, client relationships, internal-team relationships, and account operations during the planning, development, and execution of direct marketing campaigns. The Director of Client Services reports directly to the Vice President and advises on matters relating to the company’s strategic objectives in the Non-Profit division.

TLC is an award-winning, full-service direct response agency that has been providing marketing and fundraising services to political and nonprofit clients for over 30 years. This open position is in the nonprofit division that partners with a variety of organizations such as museums, animal welfare, social welfare, aquariums/zoos, and faith-based missions.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage non-profit account and production teams.
  • Oversee the implementation of client programs and budget guidelines while ensuring maximum cost-effectiveness for clients and achievement of client goals.
  • Oversee account reviews and analysis.
  • Oversee and guide marketing, creative, and production activities.
  • Monitor the development of internal and client business strategy.
  • Participate in on-boarding of new clients.
  • Advise in the development and implement annual budget and strategy for department.
  • Stay abreast of current trends in the industry and promote the company within the industry.
  • Directly contribute to new business development, including lead generation and primary prospect pursuits.
  • Ensure regular kick-off/transition meetings take place with new or moving clients.
  • Oversee mentoring and ongoing training for new and existing employees on the team.
  • Coordinate relevant training for all-staff as needed.
  • Provide creative/copywriting/editing support for clients as needed.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with Digital Services, Data & Analytics, Marketing, and Creative to ensure the quality & timeliness of each work product, and that the process is managed appropriately.
  • Maintain institutional relationship with major & minor clients.
  • Meet with major clients on a regular basis to assess results and client needs.
  • Participate in relevant fundraising events, museum openings or client gatherings.
  • Provide regular reports to VP on status of client relationships, client profitability, direct marketing plans and budgets (and broader Management Team as needed.)
  • Assess the success of company activities as it relates to department, including client profitability.
  • Perform analysis of market/sales/income potential of new products and services ideas.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field and at least 10 years of professional experience overall with a minimum of three years of experience supervising staff.
  • Demonstrates integrity, strives for excellence in her/his work.
  • Passionate about The Lukens Company mission and able to promote and communicate its philosophy, mission and values.
  • Flexible and able to multi-task; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
